This election could be a game changer in how San Diego’s elections will be from this year onward. For too long, the bicycling demographic has simply been ignored. At this point in history we have a lot of catching up to do, and I believe we need a visionary leader to take us there. He’s not only a bicyclist, but an ironman triathelete also. What better fit, if you value quality of life in San Diego, and want to promote a healthy environment..
It seems like Nathan Fletcher could be that leader. We’d like to hear your thoughts in person this Saturday and I’m sure Fletcher would too. Here is an opportunity to talk to Mayoral Candidate Nathan Fletcher, go on a ride and, climb hills with him while expressing what you’d like to see from a bicycle friendly mayor.
Fletcher intends to release a comprehensive bike plan policy next week along with his vision and the specific steps he will take to ensure that San Diego becomes the world’s best city for bicycling. But it is important to talk to him about what it is that San Diego is lacking so he is aware of all the issues that we face on the streets everyday.

Gelato Vera Caffe
3753 India (corner of Washington), San Diego, CA
There was a short blurb in Pacific Magazine saying how Fletcher is a mountain biker or triathlete or whatever athletic cyclist type, but nothing about if he would plan any bike policy in San Diego if elected mayor.
I gotta go out to this. but 7am.. near Washington St. exit..
I haven’t tried the India St. (midtown) route before.. g.maps just showed me that a little portion looks like a freeway tunnel. >___<;;; Is that even safe, bike routes beta???
but alternative Columbia St looks a little steep?
street with less cars but hills vs. street with freeway-speed cars but flatter?
