the repaved Sixth Ave. north of Upas in Hillcrest, San Diego.

Since I took office and proclaimed streets to be sexy, we have repaved 300 blocks of streets — the equivalent of more than 27 miles — in District Three.

big ups to District 3 Councilmember Todd Gloria. see his “Sexy Streets” album on fb and list of infrastructure improvements.

but looking through all these photos, a very small amount of these sexy’d streets include new bike lanes.. :( GOTTA ROOT FOR MORE BIKE LANES!!!

i’ve noticed small spray-painted symbols while cycling on 6th ave, and have been hoping they might turn into real painted sharrows. Confirmed! :) Now we just need crosswalks all along 6th ave so people won’t look and feel like they’re j-walking across to Balboa Park.
