day after thanksgiving, went on a 16mile ride (excl. the couple miles back home) looping through SE PDX so that the destination would feel like a reward.
nice ride on the dedicated bike/ped trails along the I-205 freeway and on the springwater corridor. there were some better cycle infrastructure photos I could have taken on the way at several intersections, but I didn’t stop. also happened upon the holiday express! you are advised to please walk your bikes through that area where there are lots of children.
ended at a great little black friday event @refuge PDX on distillery row. free tastings of liquors/liqueurs and more. bought a bottle of spirit and two jars of jam. shop local!
workin’ the ebbc tent. people signing petitions to the city of oakland in support of safe bikeways! (specifically: telegraph ave., park blvd., and 14th st. view our designs here.)
hella breezy / unusually windy and not as sunny as forecasted. but glad that there was still a great turn-out. streetsblog (10.06.13) reports that organizers estimate 10,000-15,000 were out enjoying the lake. ***I even walked past a guy filming for streetsblog and high-fived him! I think he was on roller blades. makes for smoother shots than walking, right?!!**
