just realised that most of my female friends can skateboard..

that’s so f—ing rad. (i’m trying to expand my adjectives and amplifiers past “hella”, ok? for you non-norcal folks)

why haven’t we had a girls’ skate sesh yet??!
it won’t involve any ramps or bowls, though.. maybe just flat streets and parking garages.. (lawl i don’t think any of us can do tricks..)

__________

also, there should be skate critical mass.
drivers already get hella mad* at cyclists in cm, but no one would know how to react to skateboarders taking up a whole lane or two.

“WE ARE TRAFFIC” yeeah!

*but imagine if each of us was driving our own car. you gonna honk the shit out of that motor traffic, too??

few weeks ago as i was cycling on telegraph ave. in oakland, a group of about 7 guys skateboarded on the rightmost lane before turning onto a side street. pretty unusual sight..

maybe i should drop by 510 and spread the idea around. every third friday of the month, 7pm. something like that.

that’s tonight in San Diego! (a less rowdy and more chill alternative to critical mass)
i miss full moon rides there.

San Francisco Critical Mass 20th Anniversary Ride

was so fun!

and lol @ car traffic. but thanks to those who patiently waited instead of getting hella mad and honking.

cuz you know, you could’ve looked at the calendar, “Oh, it’s the last Friday of the month. I should not drive my car to take a taxi or take ground transportation in the City. Maybe just BART and walk and bike or something.”

ended up on Market and Grove, where there was this acrobatic performance outside a building wall. 4 performers were running on the wall dancing. pretty cool.

The movement changed the rules in cities all over the world — and almost, almost, took the Bay Bridge

“It is a sad commentary on the nature of our government that the only way the state transit agency will take bicycling seriously as everyday transportation is when pressured by demonstrations and organized public demands,” Carlsson wrote on the flyer. “Why don’t they take the lead in opening space for cycling instead of doing everything to obstruct, deny, and prevent cycling?”
