Should San Francisco extend the Central Subway to Fisherman’s Wharf? Or cable cars to Japantown? Should we prioritize bus-rapid transit on Geary or to Potrero/Bayshore? Should we focus our limited resources on maintaining our system, or get new resources to help expand service where Muni is most crowded?

Answering these questions is part of the task of the San Francisco County Transportation Authority, who will use this forum explore the tough questions and unveil different scenarios for transportation investments to support the city’s growth.

The Yerba Buena Street Life Plan identifies Annie Alley as a key opportunity for a new open space within San Francisco’s downtown. What better way to explore the idea than a pilot project transforming the alley into a temporary public promenade, complete with planting, seating and activities?

Help SPUR and the Yerba Buena Community Benefit District jumpstart a week of outdoor events in Annie Alley by spending lunch with us. We’ll provide a grand banquet table. You, the exciting ideas. Grab some lunch from a local eatery or food truck, and join us for a picnic and discussion about the future of alleys in our urban environments.

San Diegans! Come out on Sunday to Balboa Park!

Ride your bike, skateboard, go on a jog, walk your dog, pack a picnic, bring a frisbee… go have fun!

i know at first it looks kinda useless.. closing a road inside a park.. but then part of Golden Gate Park in SF is always closed to motor vehicles on sundays, and I think Central Park in NYC, too. time for SD to move along.

There is also the “All Clubs Summer Kick Off Bike Haul in Picnic, Grill, and DJ Social 2013!!!!”

Meet up at North Park Bikes (3022 N Park Way) at 11am Sunday, ride through Hillcrest, Mission Hills, Balboa Park for the Mini CicloSDias, and end back up at Presidio Park. $5 to take part in enjoying a keg of good craft beer. Jeremy will be bringing his dj gear setup. You can bring some grillable food to share.

The intersection of Market and 6th Streets, in the heart of the Mid-Market neighborhood, has long had its share of difficulties. Crime, vandalism, homelessness and persistent retail vacancies have left the intersection avoided by locals and tourists alike. However, new restaurants and tech companies are slowly moving in, bringing with them a new and dynamic environment. Join SPUR, URBAN SPACEship and an assemblage of local businesses as we close down a portion of 6th Street and work to activate this important component of San Francisco’s core.
